Rippleffect and Portable Pixels partner for app innovation
ValueBond, an innovative app created in collaboration between Rippleffect and mobile app partner Portable Pixels, will play a major role at this year’s Peninsula Festival in London.
Festival wristbands will be fitted with a barcode, which attendees will be able to scan using Smartphones once they’ve downloaded the free ValueBond app. This will unlock content, such as offers, competitions, music channels and exclusive videos, as well as trigger a donation for a charity from the content sponsor.
This implementation marks the first time worldwide that a ‘cost free giving’ element has been used on a concert ticket or wristband. It will allow Peninsula Festival to make donations to a charity of their choosing over the course of the event, which takes place in July and August.
The ValueBond app was first launched at the end of 2011, featuring a bespoke back-end system designed and built from the ground up by Rippleffect’s in-house team.
Since going live, the app has generated thousands of downloads and significant donations for charities across the UK.
