International acclaim for Everton website
Everton and Rippleffect’s successful year is ending on a high, with the football club’s website being recognised as one of the world’s best sports websites.
The Interactive Media Awards (IMA) is an internationally-recognised initiative that looks for standards of excellence in website design and development and rewards outstanding achievement across a number of different sector categories.
Entries have to pass through a comprehensive judging process, achieving high marks out of 100 in each of the five specific criteria: design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards of compliance & cross-browser compatibility. As a result, Evertonfc.com was given an overall score of 480 out of 500 to earn a coveted IMA Best in Class Award in sport.
IMA organisers said: “The Best in Class award is the highest honour bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. In order to win this award level, your site had to successfully pass through our comprehensive judging process, achieving very high marks in each of our judging criteria – an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year.”
The website, which we have been responsible for designing and developing since 2003, was the following individual scores:
Feature Functionality: 100
Standards Compliance & Cross-Browser Compatibility: 91
We’re immensely proud of our work with Everton over the last nine years. The club has often been singled out for being one of the most innovative users of digital marketing in the Premier League, so to receive international recognition is a great testament to the passion, hard work and creativity our team continues to invest.
Everton is in good company with its IMA recognition, with the 49ners Stadium website also receiving a Best in Class Award in sport and the likes of Disney, Dove, Energy.gov, the Four Seasons hotel and MSN being selected as Best in Class within their respective categories.
