Background

Peel Airports was formed in 1997 following the acquisition of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which is currently one of the fastest-growing airports in Europe, as a division of The Peel Group. It now owns three airports across the North, Robin Hood Airport and City Airport Manchester, and owns a majority shareholding in Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Brief

Peel Airports needed a redevelopment of the airport's three existing websites to bring them under one brand identity and ore effectively promote important revenue areas such as online car-park bookings, flights and destinations and advertising partners.

Results

Following a competitive tender process, Rippleffect worked closely with the Group to create a vibrant, modern design which gives excellent coverage to the facilities and opportunities at each airport, and encourages people throughout to book online by integrating with third party booking systems. Each site uses a similar design and structure, giving the Group a consistent appearance online, while maintaining their own identity through colours and imagery.

To reduce administration costs, each website can be edited and updated through the same content management system, are easy to navigate and feature dedicated sections aimed at agents and potential commercial partners. Rippleffect additionally implemented search engine optimisation campaigns for each airport to increase bookings still further, and a pay-per-click campaign for LJLA which generated the highest return on investment for the airport across all of its media activity in terms of car park bookings.
